Hannah Gordon, Ph.D.: Fueling Enveda’s Growth with Focus and Curiosity
Hannah Gordon, Ph.D., Chief Product Officer at Enveda, relies on focus, curiosity, and clear communication to develop a robust pipeline of drug candidates at one of Colorado’s most closely watched biotech success stories. Enveda uses AI to uncover life’s hidden chemistry and fuel drug discovery. Enveda has raised close to $400 million and is already doing clinical trials.
Hannah ensures her team “ruthlessly prioritizes” to advance successful projects. She learned early to balance the joy of discovery with rigor and discipline, using a favorite phrase learned from a mentor: “Startups don’t die from starvation, they die from bloat.”
That clarity has helped Enveda advance multiple development candidates, stand out in a competitive market, and earn national recognition as a leading biotech and top employer from Newsweek, Forbes, Endpoints News, the Boulder Chamber, and Colorado BioScience Association, which named Enveda its Rising Star of the Year in 2022.
She leads a global team, headquartered at BioMed Realty’s 23-building Flatiron Park campus in Boulder, and at a state-of-the-art facility located in Hyderabad, India.
Hannah says, “It’s like Christmas morning,” when her team starts each day and reviews the progress made overnight. But with the Colorado and India teams working opposite schedules, Hannah emphasizes clear communication, structured goals, and shared decision-making to keep the work moving.
Enveda is exactly the kind of company Colorado is built to support. The state continues to attract public, private, federal, state, and foundation capital. With a convergence of innovation industries, a culture that supports science and scientists, available lab space, and an ecosystem that helps startups move fast, Capital + Growth is a proven strength in the state.
Hannah first fell in love with science and began questioning the boundaries of it thanks to an inspiring 7th grade teacher. She thrives in this environment, leads with curiosity and resets with adventure. She stays active by hiking with her partner and dog in the Rockies, flying a tiny plane across the state, and occasionally swimming with sharks (yes, really!) in the ocean.
Colorado BioScience Association supports the health and growth of Colorado’s life sciences ecosystem, advances pro-innovation policies, and supports the people building the future of health innovation.
