Mortenson: At the Forefront of Life Sciences Innovation

At Mortenson, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of innovation in building science and technology spaces. With extensive experience and a collaborative approach, we deliver highly technical projects tailored to the specific needs of our clients. Our commitment to early and integrated planning ensures each project aligns with our clients’ unique requirements.

A prime example of our work is the Fitzsimons Innovation Community, one of Colorado’s most significant developments in life sciences. This integrated urban campus not only stands out due to its scale but also because of its strategic planning, which incorporates the best practices from successful medical research parks across the country. The Community is designed to offer unparalleled opportunities for life sciences research and development companies, ranging from promising start-ups to established industry leaders. Located across the street from the world-class University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, it is a hub where the brightest minds come together to transform science into the future of health and care.

The Bioscience 3 building, a key campus feature, spans 117,000 gross square feet across three stories and provides innovative spaces for wet and dry labs and office suites. This building is designed to offer life sciences and bioscience companies flexible mixed-use spaces, including a 100-seat auditorium, shared conference areas, and a ground level suited for distribution and warehouse functions. The facility also supports specialized needs with capabilities for liquid nitrogen, compressed air vacuum, and standby electrical generators.

Mortenson’s dedication to innovation is further demonstrated by our relentless pursuit of cutting-edge construction techniques and technologies. We focus on creating sustainable, efficient, and adaptable spaces that meet today’s needs while anticipating future advancements. This forward-thinking approach helps our clients attract and retain top talent, reinforcing Mortenson’s reputation as a leader in constructing world-class science and technology spaces.
